With a score of 82-67, the Hokies got their first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) tournament title in the school's history. Their only other conference title was the Metro Conference Championship against Florida State (with a score of 68-60) in 1979.

Storm Murphy scored 9 points, Justyn Mutts and Darius Maddox scored 6 points each, Nahiem Alleyne scored 5 points each, and David N'Guessan, Lynn Kidd, and John Ojiako scored 2 points each.
