The 2012 National Title Game was played on April 2, 2012, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, and featured the 2012 South Regional Champions, #1 seeded Kentucky and the 2012 Midwest Regional Champions, #2 seeded Kansas. Led by Anthony Davis, the Kentucky Wildcats dominated the game. They kept the lead throughout the entire game. Kansas tried to mount a comeback, but never cut their deficit down lower than 5 points. With Anthony Davis’ crucial free throws at the end of game, Kentucky was able to hold and defeat the Jayhawks, 67-59. Anthony Davis was named Most Outstanding Player for the tournament.
