Having not stopped for fuel during the finishing laps, Rossi became the first in Indy history to have his race car towed to the victory lane.

In third place was Josef Newgarden, from Ed Carpenter Racing team, with 200 laps and a time of 3:00'07.0176.

Rossi only led 14 laps in total out of 200. He led laps 122, 129-137, and 197-200.
